Back in 1934, Heinrich and Lina Göbel, the parents of today's hotelier Gert Göbel, founded the “Göbel Feldmann” guesthouse, which Gert Göbel and his wife Irene joined in 1975. In the following two years, major investments were made, including the demolition of the middle section of the house to create a new part of the building. After this first major conversion of his parents' guesthouse, the “Hotel Kölner Hof” was created with 60 beds and even a sauna and swimming pool.

In 1984, Gert Göbel built the “Tanneck” guest house adjacent to the property, which was connected to the main building by a tunnel. Now 90 guests could already be accommodated. Another major investment was made in 1989, when the house was given a new floor and a new exterior façade. At the beginning, however, all the snow had to be removed and then a tent had to be built on the roof in a “night and fog operation” with all the neighbors, as it was raining into the guest rooms. Now 120 guests could already enjoy the hotel comfort in Willingen.

Over the years, the hotel continued to develop and Gert Göbel invested heavily in its expansion. The hotel “Am Park” opposite was also managed and the apartment house “Villa Katharina” was built in 1996. Just two years later, another apartment building, Göbel's “Park Resort” with 12 vacation apartments, a shopping arcade, a restaurant and conference rooms as well as a law firm in the basement, was built on the site of the “Am Park” hotel.

In 1999, the “Kölner Hof” was renamed “Göbel's Landhotel”, marking the start of the Göbel Hotel Group. In 2007, the “Dorf Alm” guest house with alpine gastronomy was added to the company.

Since then, Gert Göbel has constantly invested in the quality and expansion of his company in Willingen, for example in recent years. The “Tanneck” guest house has been completely renovated and extended by 15 rooms. A large wellness garden was created and the wellness department was given additional treatment rooms. The former small guesthouse “Göbel Feldmann” has thus developed into an elegant 4-star hotel where guests can feel completely at ease.
