The Lodge Hotel Winterberg is certified by the ADFC "Bett + Bike" as a bicycle-friendly hotel and is therefore ideally suited to cyclists and their needs.
We therefore fulfill the following services and quality criteria for cycle tourists:

The Rothaarsteig
The Rothaarsteig is a fascinating hiking trail that runs through the picturesque landscape of the Rothaar Mountains in Germany. With a total length of about 154 kilometres, the Rothaarsteig offers both experienced hikers and nature lovers a unique opportunity to discover the beauty of the region. With its breathtaking views, idyllic forests and charming villages, the Rothaarsteig is a true paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. It leads hikers through a varied landscape characterised by dense forests, rolling hills, idyllic valleys and clear rivers. The route is divided into several stages, each between 10 and 25 kilometres long and with varying degrees of difficulty. Hikers have the option of adapting the route according to their own preferences and planning the stages individually.
The Kahle Asten
A unique hiking area
The Kahle Asten, located in the picturesque Winterberg region of Germany, is a true gem for hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers. At 841 metres, it is the highest mountain in North Rhine-Westphalia and offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The Kahle Asten is known for its diverse hiking opportunities.

The branch tower and the weather station:
A striking feature of the Kahler Asten is the Astenturm (branch tower), which sits enthroned on the summit of the mountain. The tower not only offers a great vantage point, but also houses a weather station. Visitors have the opportunity to experience the weather data and gain an insight into meteorological research. The Astenturm is a popular destination for hikers and offers an ideal opportunity to take a break and enjoy the impressive view.

The Bruchhausen Stones
Experience nature in all its beauty: the Bruchhauser Steine are an impressive natural phenomenon near Winterberg. This striking rock formation consists of several imposing sandstone rocks that rise majestically from the surrounding landscape. With their fascinating beauty and rich history, the Bruchhauser Steine attract visitors from all over the world.
The Bruchhauser Steine offer hikers a variety of hiking trails that allow them to explore the rock formations up close. On the way to the Bruchhauser Steine, there are spectacular vantage points that offer unparalleled views of the rock formations and the surrounding landscape.
Our tip: Bruchhauser Steine circular trail
The Bruchhauser Steine Rundweg is an approximately 7-kilometre circular walk that leads directly to the rock formations. The trail begins in Bruchhausen and leads through picturesque forests and along small streams. Hikers have the opportunity to marvel at the impressive Bruchhausen stones up close and enjoy the breathtaking views from the vantage points. The circular trail also offers beautiful nature experiences and is suitable for the whole family.

Fly-Line
Experience nature from a bird's eye view: during the ride on the Fly-Line, you can experience your surroundings from a completely new perspective. Enjoy the view of the Sauerland mountains or the mountain bikers doing their laps in the bike park below you as you fly between the trees. Afterwards, take the chairlift back up to the summit.
Summer toboggan run
Fast-paced fun for young and old: the summer toboggan run on the Kappe adventure mountain is one of the main attractions and provides plenty of fun and thrills. Curves, bridges and jumps await you over 700 meters, while you can always control the speed yourself. Whether young or old, the summer toboggan run is an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Enjoy the speed and the wind in your hair as you hurtle down the mountains.
Climbing forest
For adventure-seekers and climbing enthusiasts, the Kappe Adventure Mountain offers an exciting climbing forest. The climbing forest is divided into different difficulty levels so that both beginners and experienced climbers get their money's worth. Test your dexterity, strength and endurance as you climb the different routes and experience the thrill of climbing in a safe environment. The Kletterwald at Erlebnisberg Kappe is a great way to push your limits and develop new skills.

Panorama Experience Bridge
A spectacular highlight for everyone: with a height of 20 meters and a length of 435 meters, the Panorama Adventure Bridge offers a wonderful panoramic view of Winterberg and the Sauerland mountains. But you can do more than just enjoy the view here: five fun elements above, below or next to the bridge invite you to play, hang and balance.

Adventure golf
Adventure golf is all about skill and ability - who has the steadiest hand and the best sense of proportion? On the 18-hole course with artificial turf, you can not only enjoy a great view while playing, the varied course also provides plenty of fun and excitement.
Winterberg Ski Jump
The Winterberg ski jump is a well-known ski jump located in the Herrloh ski area and is used for ski jumping in both summer and winter.
The ski jump was built in 1959 and has undergone several renovations and expansions since then. The Winterberg Ski Jump is an important venue for national and international ski jumping competitions. It offers training opportunities for athletes and also attracts many spectators who come to watch the spectacular jumps.
In addition to ski jumping, the area around the ski jump is also used for other winter sports such as cross-country skiing and snowboarding. In summer, events and leisure activities are often organised here.
The terrace of the Panorama Restaurant located at the ski jump offers a wonderful view over the low mountain range world around Winterberg.

Bikepark Winterberg
The Bikepark Winterberg is a dream come true for all sports enthusiasts and especially for mountain bike fans. Situated in the breathtaking landscape of the Sauerland, this park offers a variety of exciting trails and routes for all levels of experience. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, visitors will find plenty of fun, challenges and unforgettable adventures at Bikepark Winterberg.
The Bikepark Winterberg offers a wide range of trails tailored to different riding styles. From flowing and smooth trails for beginners to technically challenging downhill trails for experienced riders, there is something for everyone. Whether you are looking for the thrill of jumps and drops or just want to enjoy the beautiful nature and fast speed, the Bikepark Winterberg has the perfect trail for every rider.
Bikepark - Tracks & Trails
The Bikepark Winterberg has a variety of exciting routes and trails that are suitable for different levels of difficulty and riding styles. A total of 16 tracks with a length of around 18 km await you. Here are some of the most popular routes:
Practice course & pump track
If you just want to try out the MTB sport in the bike park, you'll get your money's worth here: the practice course can be used free of charge with your own bike and helmet. This means you can hop on your bike, relax, do a few laps and gain your first experience. What are you waiting for?
Flow Country, Snow White & Fairy Trail for all beginners
Families and beginners in particular will get their money's worth here: the easy, flowing tracks in the Bikepark Winterberg offer pure riding fun for all beginners. There are many downhill berms and the first small jumps are also possible - but don't worry, these can also be easily rolled off.
Even more action on the Freeride & Loose Lee
Here you should already have some experience in the bike park. The berms get bigger, the jumps higher: pure action for all those who are already confident on a MTB. These tracks are also flowy. Here you can build up plenty of speed for the right adrenaline rush and the right rush of speed.
The natural Enduro Triple
This is where things get a whole lot more technically challenging. Because our three natural enduro lines have it all. Their names in particular have achieved almost cult status in a short space of time: Rocky Waldboa, Forrest Stump & Shreddy Mörphy - each track has its very own character and complements the range of routes in the bike park even further!
Downhill, Blackline and North Shore for all perfectionists
Experienced bikers can be found above all on these routes - they are only for real experts and provide pure thrills. A race is held on the Downhill every year during the iXS Dirt Masters. The North Shore offers exciting descents over various wooden elements and the Black Line is a completely natural trail with many technical passages.
New: SKYWALK Willingen
Germany's longest suspension bridge for spectacular views
The fascinating SKYWALK Willingen stretches over an impressive 665 m and hovers at a height of 100 m above the breathtaking landscapes of the Upland and Sauerland. As one of the longest suspension bridges in the world and even the longest unsupported suspension bridge in the world, the SKYWALK offers visitors spectacular views. Located directly next to the imposing Mühlenkopf ski jump, the largest large ski jump in the world, it allows visitors not only an impressive view of the surrounding forests, mountains and valleys, but also of the impressive ski jump. The Café Aufwind restaurant provides excellent catering.

• cashless machines are located at both entrances at the Musenberg and at the Mühlenkopf ski jump. Payment is only possible by EC card
• staffed ticket offices are located at the World Cup ski jump, the K1 chairlift and the Ettelsberg cable car. The opening hours of the ticket offices vary and do not coincide with those of the SKYWALK.

Fort Fun Amusement Park
Fort Fun Abenteuerland is an amusement park in Bestwig, which can be easily reached by car in just 20 minutes. The park is located in the middle of the beautiful Sauerland landscape and offers a variety of attractions for visitors of all ages. The park is known for its Wild West atmosphere and offers visitors an authentic experience with saloons, cowboys and a western town.
One of the park's main attractions is the Trapper Slider roller coaster, a wooden roller coaster that speeds through the grounds at a top speed of 70km/h.
For families with children, Fort Fun Adventure Land has many attractions such as a mini roller coaster, a petting zoo, an indoor playground and a zip line. There are also shows and live entertainment that take place regularly in the park, such as stunt shows and comedy shows.
